Gear4guides wants to empower Mountain Guides in developing ski destinations, by providing them with decent equipment and avalanche safety education. Secondary, we aim to improve the findability of these local guides so it's easier to find them when you are travelling to one of these places.

We are very very happy that we have managed to accomplish our targets this winter (2011-2012). Half a year ago we were quite anxious if things would work out well logistics wise. Because Turkey, Kyrgyzstan or India are not countries which are not just around the corner. But on a certain moment this year's project started rolling when a Friend from the Turkish guides visited Amsterdam for a trade fair. He took skis back home for those guys! Please find below what we have accomplished:
1. India (Gulmarg): 3 pairs have been donated to local guides and ski teachers
2. Kyrgyzstan (Bishkek & Arslanbob: 5 pairs have been donated to a training project in Bishkek and to a local Guide in Arslanbob.
3. Turkey (Erzurum): 2 local Mountains Guides are very happy because of our support with skis.
It was impossible to get this done by help of "Friends" of Gear4guides who were willing to take the gear with them and ship it to these destinations! Thanks!

2. Building strong communities with a means of income;
3. To endorse local Mountain Guides to improve their findebility on the world wide FREERIDE map;
4. To stimulate the reuse of ski & snowboard equipment.
